Brandis Chanel – Bangs Salon
Hair And The Blog :How long have you been in the industry?
Brandis Chanel: This year makes 13 years of being a professional stylist!
Hair And The Blog:What has been your biggest challenge in the beauty/hair industry?
Brandis Chanel: My first year coming back home to Cleveland from living away for over 7 years had to be one of my biggest challenges. All I knew was I had to make this career choice work no matter what because this is what my heart desired. I consider Cleveland stylist some of the best stylist in the world and coming home I knew I had to represent! I’m very proud of the time and effort I put in my first year home. Not did I only leave business cards everywhere, I went into local hair stores and asked to put a huge 12×8 banner with my picture in the window!! I had clients wearing personalized buttons with my name and face, I ran crazy specials and did giveaways just to get people in my chair. I can say the grind in the beginning definitely paid off. Now I’m known for top notch weave installs, coloring, time efficiency and more!
Hair And The Blog:What do you think defines customer service?
Brandis Chanel:In a profession where word of mouth is known to make or break you, excellent customer service is crucial.
Defining customer service to me would be being professional at all times, being aware of client expectations, creating a positive and friendly environment for clients. Having a simple conversation with your clients can break barriers and builds a comfort level and trust. In return for giving excellent customer service comes client loyalty, an abundance of referrals and revenue growth!
Hair And The Blog:Who/what inspires you?
Brandis Chanel: Inspiration for me comes from everywhere and it can happen when your least expecting it! I’ve learned to just open my eyes and see things in an optimistic way. My daughter, Parker is so full of life! Her personality and her fearlessness inspire me to take chances no matter what. My husband, Michael also gives me the inspirational push to keep going. Through all the things he’s faced in life like losing his mom at a young age inspires me to stay strong at your weakest times.
Hair And The Blog: How do you stay up to date on the latest style trends?

I’m blessed to be working at Cleveland’s top salon( Bangs) that houses over 10 talented stylists. When you work around so much talent and fashion forward people, it keeps you on your toes!
Hair And The Blog: What would you like to see more of in this industry?
Brandis Chanel: I would love to see more interaction with all types of stylist of the industry by stepping out of your comfort zone and more diversity.
Hair And The Blog: What should we be expecting next from Brandis Chanel?
